“What I've Done” ~ Linkin Park

In this farewell,在離別的時刻

there's no blood,沒有血腥

there's no alibi.沒有藉口

Cause I've drawn regret,因為我已將感傷

from the truth,of a thousand lies.從千萬謊言中的真相抽離

So let mercy come, and wash away...所以就讓憐憫來洗滌吧

What I've done,我做了什麼

I'll face myself,我面對了自我

To cross out what I've become,我的過去 我的曾經

Erase myself,抹除它們

And let go of what I've done…讓我的過去消逝吧

Put to rest,靜一靜

what you thought of me.你們是怎麼想我

While I clean this slate, with the hands當我用我的雙手洗刷我的過去

of uncertainty因為迷惘

So let mercy come, and wash away...所以就讓憐憫來洗滌吧

What I've done,我做了什麼

I'll face myself,我面對了自我

To cross out what I've become,我的過去 我的曾經

Erase myself,抹除它們

And let go of what I've done…讓我的過去消逝吧

For what I've done,因為我的過去

I start again.我重新開始

And whatever pain may come,不管會不會遭遇到痛苦

Today this ends,在今天 這結束點

I'm forgiving what I've done, ...我原諒了我自己做過的事

I'll face myself,我面對了自我

To cross out what I've become,我的過去 我的曾經

Erase myself,抹除它們

And let go of what I've done…讓我的過去消逝吧

What I've done,我做了什麼

..Forgiving what I've done….忘記我做了什麼吧..

'Teach For America' strives for educational equality

CNN) -- This year, 18,000 of America's top college graduates competed for spots teaching in some of the poorest areas of the United States.
Only one and six will be picked for the Teach For America program, which is trying to bring educational equality to struggling school districts.
"Our country aspires so admirably to be a place of equal opportunity and yet where you are born still in our country does so much to determine your educational prospects," says 39-year-old Wendy Kopp, the founder of Teach For America.
Her immediate goal is to place the nations top college graduates in 26 of the nation's poorest public school systems. Her secondary goal is to grow by extending it to serve many more communities.
Teach For America recruits people of all academic majors, with widely different career interests, who sign up to teach for two years. After that, most stay in education, and others try to effect changes in educational programs through community leadership, Kopp says.
According to the Teach For America Web site, only half of the 13 million children growing up in poverty graduate from high school.
"What makes it so unconscionable is the knowledge -- and we see this everyday in the communities where we work -- that when kids in rural and urban areas are given the opportunity they deserve, they excel," Kopp tells CNN.
Kopp dreamed up the idea for Teach For America while planning her senior thesis at Princeton in 1989. She tells CNN she was so enthusiastic about her plan she wrote a letter to President Bush calling for him to take her proposal and make the organization the Peace Corps of the 1990s.
But the letter apparently ended up in the wrong White House office.
"I got a job rejection," she says.
That only inspired her to work harder. She found government grants and chased large companies for donations. Initially she was able to place 500 teachers.
In the program's 18 years, more than 14,000 people have joined TFA and about two-thirds are still full-time teachers or involved in education.
Kopp says she is inspired by the number of "alumni" who are taking leadership positions "in the broader effort to expand educational opportunity."
Things have not always been good at Teach For America. In an article in the November 27 issue of Fortune magazine, Kopp described the hard times after the initial seed money ran out. But in 2000, Gap founder Don Fisher gave TFA an $8.3 million grant (contingent on it being matched). Between other heavy hitting investors and more fundraising TFA raised nearly $17 million more, according to the Fortune article.
Also, federal support recently has grown, thanks in part to help from first lady Laura Bush.
Nicole Hallarman, a history major who graduated from Yale, tells CNN she was inspired to join Teach For America after reading Kopp's book," One Day, All Children: The Unlikely Triumph of Teach For America and What I Learned Along The Way."
Hallarman says she wants to see test scores improve at the school she will work at in the Atlanta, Georgia, area. She said she plans to continue in education after her two-year commitment is up.
"I want my first-graders to be the best first-graders my school has seen."

Va. Tech building reopened for limited lab use

BLACKSBURG, Virginia (AP) -- The Virginia Tech building where a student killed 30 people and himself was reopened for limited use of engineering labs Monday, although access was restricted because of refurbishing work.
The closure of Norris Hall after the April 16 shooting rampage had stalled research by about 50 graduate students. About 10 of them were able to resume their work Monday, said Ishwar Puri, head of the engineering science and mechanics department.
Work in the three-story, 1960s-era building includes removal of asbestos from flooring. Puri said the main laboratory wing should be accessible in a week or two.
Officials decided to reopen the rest of the building because it contains sophisticated laboratory equipment that could not be moved.
Two security guards are posted at the building, and for now access is limited to daytime hours.
"This is a little inconvenient," Puri said. "Doctoral students work into the wee hours of the morning, particularly when they're working on research."
The second-floor classrooms where student gunman Seung-Hui Cho shot 25 students and five faculty members will not be used again.
The area of a separate dormitory where Cho shot two other students remains walled off.

Internet English Final

1. Describe my chatting experiences with my peers.

As we first start in the chart room, no one knows what to say, because we have only use English chat to each other. At first every one was waiting, wait for anyone who will start the conversation, than Leon start the conversation, he want us to discuss the Business work in English, after a while waiting for our team member all arrive we start our conversation. Our main propose is to find a company that is big enough and cover all over the world. And every one start to give their own opinion, someone said KFC other said 7-11 and MCD, we vote for it and KFC win the final victory. Than we start to discuss what information should we look for about this company, because we have ten people in a group in our business class so we have to divide every part very minute, because of that we use a lot of time to think what part of the company we can do research, as we generally finish our work we decide where are we going to do our work. There was a little bit fighting when we discus where are we doing our work, because someone said some thing stupid and every one was very tired so we have a little argument then, but it ends very fast! We finally decide where and when we are going to discus our work, and it takes a long time to finish it.
Since we start our conversation I realized that using English to chat and using Chinese to chat is totally different, in normal time we won’t use English to chat to each others, so when we suddenly have to use English, we have no idea how to start a conversation and how to talk to people! Than we slowly start to get used to talk in English, most of us can talk and let people know what is our meaning though our grammar was totally wrong….but at least we had tried. I think that needs a great courage. I think if we do this kind of work more often it definitely will increase our English ability a lot. And it can also let classmates more close to other become better friends!

2. Describe my blog and blogging experiences.

First I want to tell you about why I named my Blog as “Please let me pass”.
At fist I have think lots of name for my Blog , but than I thought that this is my first tome in this class, so I’m not sure about the what will teacher going to teach in this semester, so I am a little bit worry about it, than I chose this name as my blog’s name, the other reason I will use this name is because it looks attractive, I think some people will view my Blog because of it’s name. In my blog, there are self-introduction online dictionary ESL websites News and Music & Song. Like most of my classmates, Self- introduction is one of my favorite part of my Blog because I think I have done a good job in that part, I have wrote down my personality and a short describe about my family, I also upload a picture that I think it’s interesting of mine. And there are also some useful webs like ESL and online dictionary, I think it really can help you when you are learning English, you can look for words that you don’t know from online dictionary, and learn some English skills form ESL websites. It’s very helpful!!

About my blogging experiences, fist I have to say create a Blog is not an easy things to do, first you have to think a name for your blog than you have to post some good article in it to attract people to come and view your blog. This is my first blog and it is all English, creating this blog did increase my English ability. In my blog there are several online dictionaries where you can look for new words that you do not know, there are also some ESL English as second language websites that update almost every day, where you can look the latest article and improve your English ability there. I also post some news on my Blog and the most interesting part I think is the JCLOSE, JCLOSE is a program that you can create a game, first you have to choose an article, after you read it you can choose some words in the article, and turn it in to a blank, use your mouse to point at the blank it will show you some information about the word of the blank, than you fill in the blank by the information that computer gave to you. You can test yourself how many times do you need to finish all the blanks in the article. And you can set what information you want to show when the mouse point on the blank. It is really an interesting program, you can try it by yourself! The most difficult part of creating a Blog, I think is the HTML code, though using the HTML code can create many many special effect, like you can automatically play a song when the page has been opened, place a hyperlink change your mouse icon, or put some pictures that will move on your screen or even link a video on your Blog page or the words on the page will disappear by itself, that is really fun but it is too complicated for me, first you have to look for the HTML code from other one’s Blog or home pages, if you no nothing about the HTML code like me, you’ll never find where it is! let’s pretend if you find it, you still have to put it in the right place on you Blog then it will work. Although my Blog is not the most beautiful and also not the best but it still is a good experience to create a Blog of my own.

The Conrad Tokyo

Forum: Travel in the News
THE LOCATION Just south of downtown Tokyo and the Ginza district, Shiodome is a futuristic-seeming area of skyscrapers and elevated pedestrian walkways that connect buildings and elevated train stations. The area is served by nearby Shinbashi station, which conveniently links to the Roppongi and Shibuya areas through the Ginza line. Although the immediate area is a bit bare busat night, the area is well-known to taxi drivers and a quiet retreat from the bustle of Tokyo. The hotel is also a 10-minute walk from the very popular Tsukiji Fish Market, a top tourist destination, especially for jet-lagged foreigners who go for the sushi breakfast that's served as early as 5:30 a.m.

Hello, I'm Andy, I'm 20, from Taipei, I graduate From Kang Ning Junior Collage Of managemet and medical care in 2005. My major is English, and I'm very interesting in it.

There are four people in ym family, including my parents a younger sister and I, we are not rich but we are not poor, we'r only a well-fixed family. So please don't rob me!!

About my personalty, I'm out-going, active, and being responsibility. I like to make friends, and I also like to have some chat with people, I think making friends will help me to express my relationship with people, mybe it will help me a lot in the future, like borrow me mony or something....

Anyway, I think I'm a eazy going and friendly person to everyone. And that's it, thaks for watching!
